Makan Foods started through a young entrepreneur, our namesake Lester, and his desire to grow chili for the export market in Uganda.  Sadly, this did not go well because farming is a lot harder than it looks.  So, to put his studies into action, Lester began buying non-exportable chili (the ones that taste great, but don’t look pretty) and turning them into hot chili sauce.    And by hot, we mean HOT.
